A place for creativity, laughter, and community building, Sanctuary Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) offers a unique opportunity for cooperative storytelling and an exploration of social and spiritual themes through play. With groups meeting in Calgary, Vancouver, and online, there are lots of ways to play!
SQUID
Rural Connections
Chat and share resources with other rural and urban 2SLGBTQIA+ people and allies, in a safe and supportive environment.
Rainbow Reads
Books, articles and poems on the intersections of queerness, religion and spirituality, with weekly discussion posts.
On-call spiritual support
Non-emergency support from trained, affirming ministers. A digital queer spirituality space for urban and rural 2SLGBTQIA+ peoples, hosted on Sanctuary’s Discord.

A queer liturgy
Drag Communion
A combination of holy Communion and Drag Brunch, Drag Communion is a deeply moving service that provides spiritual healing for those who have historically been excluded from the Christian Church and centres the sacredness of Queer people in the loving act of Communion.
“If church were like this all the time, I’d be back every week.”
These are the words we heard over and over from people who attended our Drag Communion services. First held at Shaughnessy Heights United Church on World Communion Day in October 2024, this service features liturgists in drag, Queer musicians, and a team of Queer and Affirming volunteers.
