Community Covenant

In an ideal world, no further code would be necessary for Sanctuary events and communities other than “Love Each Other.” Unfortunately, the world we live in is not ideal, and misunderstandings and abuses of power do happen.

In the interests of preventing as many of those as possible, and providing an avenue of redress for the rest, Sanctuary offers the following Safe Space Policy and Code of Conduct for all members.

Safe Space Policy

Zero tolerance for harassment

Sanctuary has ZERO TOLERANCE for harassment of any kind, including but not limited to:

• Stalking
• Intimidation
• Offensive verbal comments
• Physical assault and/or battery
• Harassing or non-consensual photography or recording
• Sustained disruption of panels, signings, and other events, digitally or in person
• Bathroom policing
• Inappropriate physical contact
• Unwelcome attention, physical or otherwise
• Abuse of this code in order to bully or pursue a vendetta

in relation to, but not limited to:

• Race
• Color
• National origin
• Gender
• Gender identity
• Gender presentation
• Sexual orientation
• Age
• Body size
• Disability
• Appearance
• Religion
• Citizenship
• Pregnancy
• Socio-economic status

If a community member engages in harassing behavior, Sanctuary staff will take prompt action in any form they deem appropriate, including expulsion from Sanctuary events or communities with no refund. Our policy applies to EVERYONE at events, in our online communities, or any space that we administrate. Everyone is subject to our Anti-Harassment Policy.

We want you to not only have the most amazing experience ever, but to do so in an environment where you are safe and accepted.
